The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering which is commonly known as GATE is an National Level Competitive Examination which is conducted by IIT, Roorkee every year to understand the basic knowledge of students of various undergraduate subjects in engineering and science. GATE is conducted jointly by the Indian Institute of Science and 7 IITs on the behalf of National Coordination Board – GATE, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) Government of India. The score of the GATE reflects the relative performance level of a candidate. It enables all the graduate candidates to get admission in the PF Programs in Engineering.
GATE 2017 Eligibility Criteria
There is no Age Limit to appear in GATE exam, applying applicants must be a Degree holder (10+2+4) years of degree in Engineering/Technology/Architecture. Other qualifications are as follows;

GATE 2017 Important Dates and Schedule
- Online registration start date: 1st September 2016 (Thursday)
- Last date for filling of online application form: 4th October 2016 (Tuesday)
- Last date for request for change in the choice of Exam City via GOAPS Login: 16th Nov 2016 (Wednesday)
- Availability of admit card on the online application interface for printing: 5th January 2017 (Thursday)
- GATE 2017 Examination dates: 4th, 5th, 11th and 12th February 2017 (on Saturday and Sunday only)
- Result announce date: 27th March 2017 (Monday)
